Proposal – Construction of a five storey mixed use building comprising a food and drink premises (café) and 37 apartments.
Our role – Pre-application advice, preparation of town planning report, on-going services and lodgement at Council, preparation and representation at VCAT.
Architect – John Demos Architects
Outcome – A planning permit was issued by Moonee Valley City Council subject to conditions including the deletion of one storey (making it a 4 storey building).
Terrain Consulting Group then applied to VCAT to contest several permit conditions.
After a successful Compulsory Conference (mediation hearing) between Moonee Valley City Council and the adjoining Ukrainian Orthodox Church, an amended planning permit was issued which deleted the condition requiring the deletion of one storey, thus reinstating the building to five storeys as originally proposed.
