A Collaborative Triumph: Innovative Apartment Development on Whitehorse
Our office had the privilege of collaborating with ZJF Architects on an innovative and captivating apartment project nestled along Whitehorse Road in Mont Albert.
A sophisticated 5-storey residential development gracefully perched above two levels of secure underground parking.
Set in a vibrant and flourishing area, this site is recognised for its potential to embrace higher-density development, located within a ‘Substantial Change area’ within a Residential Growth Zone.
We navigated a complex tapestry of site-specific challenges, thoughtfully responding to the existing trees, addressing flooding concerns, urban design considerations, and ensuring a sensitive response to neighbouring properties. Throughout this intricate planning journey, we worked hand-in-hand with Council Officers, ZJF Architects, and a team of external consultants, overcoming design obstacles with collaborative ingenuity. After a comprehensive public notification and consultation process, the design was further modified in response to objector concerns.
Our hard work and collaborative approach paid off, securing the support of the Council Officers and the issue of a Notice of Decision to Grant a Permit.
