Changes to Planning Policy – What will the Victorian State Governments Planning Policy changes mean for the future of Melbourne and regional Victoria?

|

Last Thursday evening, Terrain Consulting Group hosted an engaging seminar with a brilliant group of architects and designers.

The evening focused on the Victorian State Government’s strategic policy changes to help accommodate the growing population across Melbourne and Regional Victoria by 2051.

We unpacked Victoria’s ambitious housing targets, discussed the newly introduced 10 Major Activity Centres and 50 Train & Tram Zone Activity Centres—set to house the majority of new homes over the next few decades.

Key conversations also covered new Land Use Zones, Planning Overlays, updates to Clause 55 (Townhouse and Low-Rise Code) and the newly introduced Clause 57 (Four Storey Residential Buildings) aimed at fast-tracking compliant applications and enabling higher-density housing.

We also looked ahead at what’s next for Victoria and the changes still to come in the evolving planning landscape.

It was a fantastic night full of insightful discussions, great connections and of course—delicious food.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed!
