Successful Planning Permit Outcome for Industrial Development in Hobsons Bay
The proposal involves a materials recycling business specialising in the handling, storage and export of pre-dismantled automotive parts that are economically not viable to repair in Australia. The parts will be sorted and stored on site before being exported overseas, where they can be repaired, resold or repurposed. This operation supports resource recovery and helps divert materials from landfill.
The application required careful consideration of hazardous goods storage, as well as relevant regulatory and licensing requirements under the Environment Protection Act 2017 and Dangerous Goods (Storage and Handling) Regulations 2000, including applicable development licence requirements.
Our team at Terrain Consulting Group supported the applicant throughout the planning process, providing pre-application advice, preparing the town planning report, and managing the planning application through the Hobsons Bay City Council’s assessment process.
Congratulations to our client on securing their planning permit! We’re delighted to have assisted in progressing this project and wish them every success with the next stage of their business.
