From Refusal to Approval via a Consent Order

|

Our office was engaged to assist with a Planning Application for a materials recycling depot in Williamstown that had lost its way and been refused by the Council.

Our initial step involved reaching out to the Planning Officer to understand the Council’s concerns and the reasons for the refusal.

We aimed to identify a viable path forward through VCAT. By collaborating closely with both the Council Officers and the applicant, we refined the proposal to address the Council’s concerns.

This effort led to a successful negotiated outcome, which was endorsed by VCAT through the issue of a Consent Order which directed the issue of a Planning Permit.

We are now working with the client and the Council to finalise the documents needed to satisfy the permit conditions.

The end result – a satisfied and relieved client!
